PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATIONS AND ETHICAL BEHAVIOR DURING A CODE

Basic Life support skills, performed correctly, are critical in a code situation. Communicating professionally and behaving ethically during a code also greatly impact both patient care and clinical decision making.

The purpose of this training is to help you develop an awareness of the importance of professional behavior in high-stress situations such as a code.

Each of the following videos present a choice to be made in a code situation; select the choice from the statements below the video. Which choices will you make? Are the outcomes what you expected? How do they affect you, patient care and the hospital?

After watching all four videos will you be more aware of ethical behaviors and professional communications when performing Basic Life Support?
